Promotional video for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 directed by Javier Polo where Lionel Messi joins Sorare as Athlete Ambassador.
As the VFX Artist and Animator, I managed various elements of the vfx and animation across several key shots.
My tasks included removing the original ball to create a clean plate, tracking the original ball, and replacing it with an animated version in Element 3D within After Effects.
This process involved using a custom unwrap map of the ball converted into animated shape paths or creating a 16-bit video game effect for the ball.
Special kudos to my teammates Marc Guardiola and Juanan Valverde for their work on the other shots, whose contributions were invaluable in bringing this project to life.
